About the Event

Join the MRF Festival '24 audience for exciting, live performance of new choral and instrumental music.

Our theme this year is: Togetherness

BRING YOUR OWN PICNIC

Bar - wine / fruit juice, will be open during your pre-concert picnic. Donations to MRF.

After a Festival day full of rehearsals and workshops, audience ticket-holders are welcome to join us for the...

16:30  Composer-performance masterclass  - audience welcome. Comments on the pieces by our award-holders & alumni by our composer-mentors.

17:30  PICNICS and Doors Open, with bar - donations to MRF

18: 30  Early evening Concert

Headlining will be: 

Toril Azzalini-Machecler, BBC Young Musician percussion finalist 2018 - our Performer-in-Residence.

Toril will give 2nd performances of the short commissions for solo percussionist, by our 4 award-holders, which will have been premiered at the Royal College of Music, in March.

Dr Pande Shahov will direct ensembles.

Festival Choir will perform short pieces for SATB, including 21st Birthday Greetings by Ella Laughton, alumnus, and Motets by Howard Skempton - our patron.

Flexible Ensemble will perform arrangements of 2 Tangos by Astor Piazzolla, and 2 pieces by our alumni: Roots - Carrot Music by Pernille Faye, and a new piece by Felix Sladen-Jewell.

Percussion Workshop; will perform a piece workshopped earlier in the day.

This will be led by Toril Azzalini-Machecler.

19.30  End of concert
