About the Event
The focus of this Annual Festival will be nature and climate change, PLUS the launch of Martin Read - a celebration, the long-awaited CD of Martin' s music.
Having joined MRF Festival '23 to perform Martin's cantata The Death of Colonel Boles, we’re thrilled to have members of Oxford-based Commotio as our ensemble-in-residence this year, giving premieres of new pieces by our 4 award-holders for 2025, and one piece by Martin Read, a capella. They will also be joined by our Festival choir to perform a new work by alumnus Freddie Hodkin. Joseph Spooner, cello, will join the joint choir for John Tavener's Svyati . A new work for flexible ensemble is to be announced.
Workshops for singers and instrumentalists will start around 12noon in the Parish Rooms - final timings TBC.
Participants' schedule:
12 noon - Commotio with Festival Choir – Parish Rooms.
14.00 - Flexible Ensemble workshop – Parish Rooms.
